Springfield Wins 7 on 7 at West Carrollton; Headlines & Highlights

Springfield Wins 7 on 7 Football Tourney at West Carrollton

The West Carrollton Pirates hosted a 7 on 7 Tournament last weekend at the DOC Stadium.

With 10+ teams attending the event, it was a great event as football preseason kicks off with 7 on 7 action and camps all over the area.

Here were some of the Headlines - Highlights from the event:

Smoot dazzles as Springfield wins Event

Tae'Sean Smoot, the best QB in Ohio and possibly in the country, showed why he will be one of the more hotly recruited seniors as he lead the Cats to the Championship.  Smoot, looking more ripped due to his strict workout regimen, was on point all day as he led the Cats over rival Wayne en route to the title.

Wayne offense could be Potent

Depsite losing D-1 Stud QB Cam Fancher, the Wayne Train have a chance to be even better than last year offensively, which Coach Mukes is happy about.

With a new QB running the show, he will have plenty of weapons to choose from, especially Bama commit and matchup nightmare Elijah Brown, one of the top TE's in the country.

Dunbar to be led by Gunslinger

The Wolverines will go to pocket passer Nate Roberts, who will get his chance to lead a extremely talented and hungry Wolverines team to was a Final Four Team in the 7 on 7. Coach Lacking loses a lot of talent, including his Valedictorian son Myles Lacking, who was a beast as a DB.

Aiken does work, despite not having Size

Cincinnati Aiken repped well, making the final four of the Tournament and showing to have a solid defense and some playmakers on offense.

West Carrollton Looking To Get on Track

The Pirates had high hopes last season, but Covid-19 and a inconsistent season hurt the Pirates. Despite losing Top QB Kamury Cleveland to Trotwood, the Pirates still have good position players and a defense that could produce a suprisingly good season. Can Black rally the troops?

"It will feel good to have a season, as we couldn't get into any rhythm last year. We sat out 2 weeks in a row, and we never could recover."  Black stated.

"NEW DAY" SPORTS INTERNSHIP HOPES TO GIVE YOUTH A NEW OPPORTUNITY

“NEW DAY” SPORTS MEDIA PROGRAM LOOKS TO GIVE YOUTH  A NEW OPPORTUNITY

S.E.Live365 has partnered up with Sunlight Village to start a new internship aimed at reaching the youth.

A New Day Sports Media Internship, which is the name of the program, was inspired by the passing of one of the great TV Producers and Videographers in media in the Midwest.

Tony Day, who was a legend in the Dayton Television community, passed away earlier this year after a long fight with cancer. Day was a staple at DATV, as he was a staff assistant. He would help engineer some other programs by other producers as well as producing his own show on a weekly basis.

Day was a videographer and director for the 2-Time Award Show Dayton HS Sports, which currently will be airing Season 3 on Fox Sports Dayton in August.

He also helped with editing, and did many live remotes with DHSS and S.E.Live365. Deon Cash, the CEO of SELIVE365.COM and Dayton HS Sports, has vowed to honor his name.

“Mr. Day was the OG and expert of the team. He was our security blanket. We all could go to him, and he’d always have answers. Or some advice. Or something positive. It sucks that he isn’t with us, but we will make sure that we live and honor his name.” Cash stated.

“Without him, we would not have been able to start Dayton HS Sports.”

The New Day Internship will show the participants how to be successful in the sports media field, either in front or behind the camera, in print, in marketing, or other areas that are offered.

The first class was held at Sunlight Village, and it was a huge success.

“I was nervous the whole day!” Cash stated. “To be teaching people how to be successful at what I'm doing? It’s really a honor.

But to do it for Mr. Day? It means everything to me.” “I want to thank Sunlight Village for the amazing opportunity.” Cash said.

The "New Day" Internship will last for 10 weeks and will give the kids opportunities to work in the sports field along with other areas (Music, Fashion, Gaming, Business, Social Media, Non-Profit).

If you are in high school, college, or a adult looking for a internship opportunity or want to get into the sports media field, email us at: thesportseffect@gmail.com.
