Heres the Recap / Headlines of the 2nd Round of the OHSAA Football Playoffs (Southwest Ohio) (Dayton, Cincy, Springfield).

Springfield Dominates Fairmont

Springfield used its passing attack of Byrce Schondelmyer and Anthony Brown and the stout defense led by GWOC Defensive Player of the Year  Jaivian Norman to shut down Fairmont in the 2nd round of the OHSAA football playoffs by a score of 21-0. Fairmont couldn't get all league performer RB Drew Baker and the running game going.

Springfield will face Centerville in the Regional Semifinals at Northmont HS.

Tippecanoe Rolls Past Trotwood

The Tippecanoe Red Devils jumped on Trotwood early and often, and left no doubt that the Miami Valley League still has a legitimate dog in the fight as Tipp won at home 43-14.  QB Liam Poronsky led the passing, connecting with WR Stanley Cline for a TD, while the running game was dominant as well with RB Xavier Jones scoring and providing the ground attack.  The state ranked Red Devils will face Western Brown in the Regional Semifinals.

Centerville will face Springfield in the Regional Semifinals.

Piqua Falls to Edgewood

Piqua would score the first two TD's (on Ky Warner runs) to hold a 14-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. From then on, Edgewood would score a TD in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, and would end it in OT with a Tavion Crosby run, as he amassed 145 yards on 30 carries and 2 pivotal TD's to help Edgewood knock off Piqua for the 2nd consecutive season. Piqua would get the ball but could not score on its final possession, as Edgewood will now face Anderson at Little Miami.
