Week 4 Recap: Miamisburg knocks off Wayne; Springfield crushes Elks; Northmont, C-J, Troy remain unbeaten; Trojans drop 62 on who? Star Players of Week 4

Thursday Games: 

Northmont hammers Butler, stays undefeated 
 Northmont would start the game off with a TD off a failed punt and never look back, dominating Butler 49-16.
Miles Johnson threw for 5 TD's as the Bolts struck early and often.
 The Bolts move to 4-0 on the season.
 Butler falls to 2-2.


Dunbar gets first win of season, stops Ponitz in shootout as Packnett Jr. steps up
Sophmore QB Greg Packnett, Jr. knew that if the Dunbar Wolverines would get their first victory on the season?
He would have to step it up.
And step it up he did, as he carried the Wolverines to a 42-33 game.
Literally.
Packnett rushed for 4 TDs, including the Game Clincher late in the 4th as the Wolverines held off a pesky Ponitz squad for the 1st win in Dayton Public School League this season.
Ponitz was prepared for battle and with 3 fumble recoveries (for TDs), 2 by Rising DB Donyea McNary  and a pick 6 INT by Ward, they stayed in the game, and almost won it.

Packnett, the son of the legendary 2-sport star Greg Packnett who dominated the Miami Valley in the 90's, now has become his sons motivational coach and gives him advice when necessary.

The advice to Greg Jr in crunch time?
"Stay composed, make plays, and get this W."

Mission accomplished.
 The Wolverines move to 1-3 on the season, while Ponitz falls to 0-4.

Friday Recap Week 4 Games:

C-J routs Purcell, stays #1 in State Poll

Chaminade  handled business once again as they crushed Purcell Marian 38-0 behind Junior Sensation Ryan Minor, as he threw for 3 TDs, Quincy Johnson ran for 2 TD's and caught another, Marquis Henry ran for 114, the defense caused 3 turnovers and it was all Eagles. C-J moves to 4-0.

Up next? a big showdown with undefeated Carroll.

Miamisburg knocks off Wayne , stays undefeated 

The Burg was rockin' as they used a stout running game, a D that wouldn't give and a QB who was in tune to a suprising 30-13 win against the Wayne Warriors.

Early in the game Wayne had a chance to seize control, but could only muster Field goals, which would bite them in the butt later in the game. 

Once Miamisburg got momentum in the 3rd quarter, it was no looking back as QB Tate Vongsy directed a offense that would roll up over 225 yards on the ground, 77 by Vongsy himself. Jon Yerkins dominated in the game, as he ran for 2 TD's, 100+ yards, and snatched a sweet INT as well. 

Wayne had a shot to get into game early in the 4th but the INT by Yerkins, and a 9 min drive that was mostly punishing runs, sealed the fate of the Wayne Train. 

After the game we was able to speak to top Ohio Prospect CB Cameron Moore Perry, and he felt like they are ready to take the next step and compete for the GWOC Championship this season. 

Wayne falls to 2-2 while Miamisburg stays undefeated (4-0). 

Springfield crushes Centerville, shows they're no joke

The Wildcats have took some tough losses to the Centerville Elks in the last few years. 

So it was easy for Springfield to play top level football as they have done all season. There was just a little more purpose, knowing they could possibly keep the Elks winless (0-4). 

And after the 1st quarter, it was all Cats as they rolled over Centerville 49-6 en route to their first 4-0 season in a while. 

The Cats plowed Centerville's defense for over 450 yards rushing as the Elks had no answers for the backfield trio of Jeff Tolliver (145 yds, 3 TD's), Tavion Smoot (165 yds) and Dual threat QB Raheim Moss, who ran for 160 and 3 TD's himself. 

Moss did throw a TD to Kentucky Commit and All-Ohio DB Moses Douglass, who was rock solid on defense as well.

Defensively Isaiah Gibson, the 4 star OL who also committed to  Kentucky, was dominant, with 2 sacks, a forced fumble, and was the anchor on the O-Line which dominated on the night. 

Springfield moves to 4-0 on the season. 

Trotwood gets back on track as Defense Dominates 

The Rams had taken 2 of the best teams in the Midwest, so when they would face a Sidney team without their 2 star players of a year ago.

With that being said, it was all Trotwood as they put up 41 against the Yellow Jackets in a balanced effort for the Rams. 

While the offense was solid, the defense was spectacular, forcing 7 turnovers, 4 sacks, and wreaking havoc all night. 

Kennedy Coates once again showed why he's one of the very best defenders in Ohio, amassing 2 sacks while dominating the line of scrimmage, Jerrell Sanders led the team with 8 tackles and a INT, 

Sophomore Sensation Ravae Garrett snatched a pick 6 and had 2 INTs overall and 2-sport star DB Carl Blanton, had 2 INTs himself. 

Trotwood moves to 2-2 on the season, while Sidney falls to 1-3.

Belmont falls to St. Francis DeSales on road 

The Bison brutal schedule continues to give them a tough road, as they fell to St Francis DeSales on the road. While the Bison are 0-4, there is still a sense of a playoff run for Belmont. 

They have taken on some of the top teams in the state, and hope that it will pay off later in the season. 

Meadowdale wins as team "No Call, No Show" strategy backfires

The Lions were awarded a forfeiture as Reigning Thunder Academy pulled a "No Call, No Show" as they didn't show up for their game as part of the doubleheader at Welcome Stadium on Friday Night.

In what was supposed to be the 2nd game of the doubleheader (Thurgood vs Winton Woods was 1st game) Meadowdale was looking to move to 2-2, but then realized that nobody would return a call, a text, a email, nothing.

Lions Head Coach Brown was befuddled, to say the least.

Reigning Thunder Academy is a prep school located in Columbus area. 

Just no call? Or no show? 

What organization does that?

In the meantime, Meadowdale moves to 2-2 on the season, the only team in Dayton Public Schools with a  winning record at the moment.  Congrats to the Lions.

Troy drops 62 on Stebbins

The Troy Trojans once again look like they are headed for a  playoff push, after a 62-0 drubbing of Stebbins.

 QB Brayden Siler threw for 315 and 5 TD's while Jaydon Culp-Bishop ran for 130 and 4 TD's as the Trojans stay undefeated (4-0) and atop the GWOC Standings.

Sam Jackson 11 tackles and 1.5 sacks led the D.

Alter wins 3rd straight 

Alter seems to have put their troubles behind, after a loss in game 1 to Fairmont. 

The offense accounted for 622 yards of total offense in shutting down Roger Bacon 49-14. 

The win pushes the Knights to 3-1 on the season.

Winton Woods shuts out Thurgood

Winton Woods jumped out on Thurgood and never looked back, scoring the first 52 points of the game, before winning 59-6 at Welcome Stadium.

The loss drops Thurgood to 0-4 on the season.

Tipp blows by West Carrollton in shootout 

Tippecanoe bounced back from a tough loss last week to win a shootout with West Carrollton 56-26 as they ran over, around, and through the Pirates defense for a whopping 500 yards on the ground. However, West Carrollton did put up a fight and offensively has shown they can compete, as rising QB Triston Dillon threw for 350 yards and 3 TD's in the loss. Austin Jones caught 2 more TD's while Jordan Ward accounted for almost 200 yards of total offense and a TD to boot.

Tipp moves to 2-2 while West Carrollton falls to 1-3. 

Carroll stops McNick, sets up showdown with C-J next week

The Carroll Patriots have been rolling all season, and after another big win over Cincy McNicholas  38-27, the Patriots now have their sights set on the big Matchup at C-J on Friday Night. 

Carroll jumped out to a 21-0 lead after 2 big TD runs by rising RB Fred Butts (36 and 37 yards) and a Pick-6 INT by 2 way baller Will Severt set the tone and gave the Patriots all the cushion they needed to secure the win. 

Carroll now readies for the Showdown with Chaminade which should make the FootballU4U Top Games this week.

As we near the mid season mark of the football season, here are the big games in Week 4 which could start to separate the playoff contenders from the pretenders.

In a game that Miamisburg has came into undefeated the last few years, could this be the year the Burg knocks off the Wayne Train? The Burg has been hitting on all cylinders, but Wayne has had their number over the years.


Springfield (3-0) @ Centerville (0-3) 
In a game that is "Must Win" status for Coach Brent Ullery and the Elks, they will be facing a Springfield team who has looked unflappable with leadership and D1  talent all over the place.
With Coach Maurice Douglass at the helm, could the Cats give Centerville another loss, which would all but eliminate the Elks from playoff contention?

Thursday Recap:

Packnett leads Wolverines over Ponitz 
When the Wolverines needed someone to step up and save its season?
Sophomore stud Greg Packnett answered the call.
The QB accounted for 3 TDs, the final coming late in the game when Ponitz had threatened to take the lead.

Dunbar dominated early and late, but in between Ponitz played hard, and after the 2nd turnover for a TD, the Panthers found themselves down 1.
However Packnett drove the Wolverines down and finished it off with a game securing TD run which gives the Wolverines their first W on the season.

It is noted that All-State OL Johnathan Allen was out due to a injury. Not sure when his target time for return to the field.

Bolts run past Butler 
Northmont got going early, and couldnt be stopped as they scored the first 36 points of the game and routed Butler, moving to 4-0 on the season.
With 5 TD passes on the night, Northmont offense was clicking on all cylinders.

2 way Star Player Danny Davis caught a 70 yard bomb to help put the game away early.

Butler falls to 2-2 while Northmont stays atop GWOC.

Week 3 Recap: C-J rolls; Trotwood, Wayne fall; Mistakes doom Belmont; West Carrollton grabs big W

Heres the Recap on what went down in Week 3 of the Miami Valley:

Top Headlines:

(1) C-J rolls to 3rd straight in battle of unbeatens
Chaminade rode the red hot hand of its rising star QB to roll past Greenville 58-16.
Ryan Minor threw 4 TD passes and 250 yards, RB Quincy Johnson ran for 126 and 2 scores and Star WR Dominic Wilcox snatched 2 more scores and 126 receiving as the Eagles move to 3-0 under Coach Colvin for the first time in his tenure.
Also noted that the Eagles are #1 in the D-3 OHSAA State Football Poll.
Congrats to Coach Colvin and the Eagles.


(2) Rams stopped by D-1 champs in rematch
Trotwood brutal schedule has them at 1-2 so far, as they lost to another top team in the D-1 Champs of Pickerington Central 42-19 at Trotwood.

In a game that was close in the 3rd after a Keon'tae Hugely TD (14-13), Pickerington kicked it into another gear late, and the Rams couldn't convert on some key plays which gave Pick Central all the juice they needed to avenge their loss from last season and grab the key win.

RB Jamir Jackson got Central going with 107 and 2 TDs and a Jaquon Crawford 85-yard Pick 6 was the game changing play, making it 2 scores (28-13) and sending Trotwood to its first 1-2 season in quite a while.


(3) Wayne falls to Hoban as TO's loom costly 
The Wayne Train took its first L of the season, as they lost to Archbishop Hoban 47-28 at Heidkamp Stadium.
Wayne actually had the lead at half, and was hitting on all cylinders with a 28-27 lead at half, as Star QB Rashad McKee 2 TD's and Ja'Rod Lankford 95-yard kickoff return set the tone.

However, the 2nd half was a different ballgame as turnovers (4), 1-4 on 4th down and good defense by Hoban shut out the offensive juggernaut, and scored 3 times as Deamonte Trayanum scored twice to help seal the deal.
Hoban ran for over 300 yards on Wayne, which was the gamechanger in the 2nd half.
Wayne falls to 2-1 on the season.


  (4) Belmont fails to execute in loss to Sidney
Belmont was hoping to get revenge on the Yellow Jackets after losing to them in the 2017 OHSAA Playoffs in a game that featured the likes of  Andre Gordon, Jaden Rucker Furlow, and others, it was a classic.
With both teams losing star players, Sidney was able to overcome a hard shot by Belmont, and a key run by Sidney late in the 1st half propelled the Yellow Jackets over the Bison 38-6.

After a Rian Reeves TD, Sidney would score 38 unanswered. But it wasn't until 10-6 when Sidney seized control, after the only incomplete pass on the day for Reeves, as the Bison were on the move. Sidney would score before half, taking a 17-6 lead and they would never look back, as QB Ryan Dunham threw for 235 and 3 TDs and the defense was able to contain the vaunted Bison running attack.
DL Braydon Dean (20), LB Christian Retterer (17) and Ryan Cagle (14) led the D.
Star DB Donovan Sims led the Bison D with a INT, while QB Rian Reeves scored a TD and rushed for 88 yards.
Belmont falls to 0-3 on the season


(5) West Carrollton nabs big win as Senior QB, WR, fab frosh roll
The West Carrollton Pirates grabbed a big win in the early season defeating Preble Shawnee 47-42 in one of the wildest games of the early season.
Fast Rising Star QB Triston Dillon threw for 278 and 4 TDs to lead the Pirates, with all 4 TDs going to Junior WR Austin Jones, who had 5 catches for 195 in the win.
While Ben Hobbs (239) and James Gibson (155) dominated for Shawnee, the starting Debut of Fab Frosh RB Jordan Ward was nothing short of spectacular, amassing 194 on the ground, a 40-yard TD, and stability for Dillion and the Pirates offense.
Dakoldes Turner (14 tackles) and Tommar Coles (9 tackles, 100 yard fumble return) led the Pirates D, who now move to 1-2.



(6) Dynanic duo leads Northmont to big win as Franklin runs wild 
Northmont  continued to show why they are one of the top teams in the Miami Valley, with a  big win over Tippecanoe.
Michael Franklin was simply unstoppable, running around, over, and through the Tipp defense for 280 yards and 4 TD's.
The other TD goes to Star CB Danny Lewis, as he had his first Pick 6 of the season (54 yards) to help bust open the game and send Northmont to 3-0 on the season.



(7) Springfield stays unbeaten with big road victory 
The Wildcats rode their senior leaders and star players to a big 16-10 road victory over Hudson.
Star QB Raheim Moss was efficient in leading the offense, Junior RB Jeff Tolliver got loose for 96 yards rushing, 72 recieveing and 2 TDs and the d was lead by All- America candidates in Maurice Douglas Jr and Isaiah Gibson.
Douglass jr, already committed to UK, forced another fumble and led the team with 8 tackles, while Gibson, the 6'4 300 pound beast who is one of the hottest recruits in Ohio, had 7 tackles, a sack, and a punt for 39 yards, which shows his great agility and skill set for a big man.
Douglass was proud of his team, but wants more, and feels he has a team who could do some special things.
Springfield moves to 3-0 on the season.

Meadowdale falls on road to Piqua
The  Lions were in trouble early and often, as they were shut out against Piqua, as the RB duo of Makeegan Kuhn and Micah Karn dominated the Lions. Meadowdale was led by QB Elijah Carson and 2 way player JuJuan Gaddis (Forced Fumble) in the loss.
Meadowdale falls to 1-2 on the season.

Dunbar still winless after coaching change
The Wolverines took a tough one on the chin as they lost on the road to Mt Healthy 28-6. Dunbar wa able to get on the board for the first time this season but was not able to make a real run to garner the first win. The Wolverines are still looking for their first win after the noted coaching change this season, of letting go of Darrran Powell.

Dayton Christian outlasts Ponitz 
Dayton Christian was able to hold off Ponitz 20-14 to keep Ponitz winless on the season. While Ponitz had a opportunity to take the game, the Crusaders was able to play solid d and shut down the Panthers in the late game.
Ponitz now falls to 0-3 and will face Dunbar on Thursday night.

Thurgood fall to Shawnee in loss
While Thurgood definitely competed in the Shawnee game, they fell by a score of 30-17. Thurgood played its most competitive game of the season and seems to be turning the corner. Big game vs Winton Woods this week for the Cougars.

Miamisburg  stays undefeated, ready for big matchup 
The Burg once again started fast, and finished strong as they roll to 3-0 and get ready for the pivotal Wayne matchup this weekend.

Troy stays perfect 
The Trojans handled business this weekend and stopped Cin Turpin 29-7. Troy now sits at 3-0 and in first place in the division once again.

 Butler rolls past Wilmington 
Butler  moves to 2-1 after big win over Wilmington. The Game was 5-3 at half when Butler scored 35 of the last 42 points of the game to cruise to the 38-12 win.

Xenia lights up Franklin, moves to 2-1 
The Bucs  won the shootout against Franklin 35-26 as Xenia amassed 440+ yards of overall offense. The Bucs now move to 2-1 on the season.

Alter outlasts Centerville in defensive battle 
In a game with early season playoff implications, Alter was able to score late to defeat Centerville 10-7. Connor Bazelak threw for 220+ in a game which the Knights could not run. The loss drops Centerville to 0-3 on the season. Alter improves to 2-1. 


Beavercreek drops 57 in blowout win 
The Creek took out some frustrations in the blowout win over Fairborn.

Dunbar Ponitz set to battle as Dayton Public Schools kickoff; Week 4 Key Games:

With so much going on in Dayton Public this off season, the Football season will kickoff tonight as the Wolverines take on Ponitz at Welcome Stadium (7pm).

With both teams looking for its first win tonight, it should be a battle with two new coaches for each team.

While Dunbar has been overwhelmed in the first few games, Ponitz has shown more and looks to be the favorite - abeit a slight one - as we head into the midway point of the season.

Dunbar has faced better competition, but will it matter when they battle the Panthers, who seemed primed for a W?
 With All-State OL Johnathan Allen leading the line, the Wolverines should have some success tonight.

Which team will get a big victory in the first game of conference play?

Rams wallop Meadowbrook, chance at Redemption, face Saint V in championship game

The Trotwood Rams, making their 2nd straight OSHAA State Basketball appearance, had a 10:45 game, against a mentally sharp and tough minded team in Meadowbrook, so the consensus was uncertainty on how the high scoring Rams would come out the gate.

Amari Davis leads fast break in Trotwood 88-42 win over Meadowbrook in the OHSAA Semifinals 

Well they put all of that to bed, as they came out with one of the best performances in ohsaa history with a 88-42 thumping of Meadowbrook in the state semifinal D-2 matchup.

Rams junior star G-F Amari Davis led all scorers with 21 points, Senior captain and star G Myles Belyeu added 18, with Super sophomore G-F Carl Blanton adding 18 as well.
Throw in the intensity of 2-sport star Justin Stephens and his electrifying dunks and blocks, and you had one of the greatest Semifinal wins in OHSAA history.

So big a margin that the newly added "Running Clock" Rule was implemented due to score difference.

 With Akron St Vincent St Mary winning their semifinal game (62-51 over Lexington) it sets up the Rematch the Rams have been Oh-So patiently waiting for.

Most of the players and the coaches still feel the sting of the last second loss from last year.

They want nothing better than to avenge that loss in the Championship.

However be careful what u wish for.

Know that coaching guru Dru Joyce will have a couple of tricks up his sleeve, as he guided his St. V squad to a epic win past season.
They are the benchmark in high school sports in Ohio right now.

And Joyce is a master of getting his troops ready for war.


This should be a war for D-2 supremacy.

Regional Recap: Trotwood holds off Hughes headed back to State; Wayne falls late to Moeller; Stars of Regional; Statline of the Weekend

Here's the Recap / Headlines on what went down in Cincy in the Regional Finals:

Trotwood back to Final Four as they hold off Hughes 
The Trotwood Madison Rams focus has been simple this season:

Get back to State. Redemption.

While it wasn't a easy task, the Rams showed the moxie and to make it happen despite losing 2 D-1 level players last season, as they held off a very good Cincinnati Hughes squad 84-74 en route to the win.

The Rams star players, Senior Myles Belyeu, Junior Amari Davis, & Sophomore Carl Blanton led the charge.
Trotwood seized control early and was up as many as 18 at one point in the 1st half.

It wasn't until the 3rd quarter did Hughes find its footing and almost widdled the lead all the way down, getting it to 6 at one point. But Trowood was Ram tough late, knocking down Key FTs and playing enough solid D, with Belyeu finishing strong as well, providing the difference in the game.

The leaders in Belyeu and Davis carried the Rams back to Columbus with a chance for redemption from last season. Both averaged 20+ in the Regionals, with Davis averaging 25ppg.

As we know last season the Rams came in #1 in their Division, but was upset by LeBron James old sqaud, Akron-St Vincent St Mary's, who went on to win the State Title.
A team they beat by 30 points earlier in the season.

Well fast forward to this season, & guess who's sitting on the other side of the bracket?

You guessed it.
St. V's. Coached by the legend Dru Joyce.

Will this be the "Year of Redemption" for the Rams?

Trotwood did lose to St Vs earlier in the year.
Makes for a good storyline, don't ya say?

Wayne falls in final minutes to Moeller
Wayne knew that in order to get to state they would have to beat Cincy Moeller to get there.
For most of the night, the Warriors went toe for toe with the powerhouse from the Nati.

Only in a crucial stretch in the 2nd half that Moeller has shown to do in other games did the Warriors fall behind in the Regional Final, ultimately leading to a loss to the Back to back State bound Crusaders.

Wayne was ahead at halftime 27-26 following a barrage of offense in the last couple minutes to snatch the lead.  Deshon Parker was brilliant, along with Darius Quisenberry who helped lead the O.

But like they have done so often this season, the Crusaders regrouped in the 3rd quarter, outscoring Wayne by 11 en route to a 10 point 3rd quarter lead and all of the momentum.

Wayne cut it to 4 with 3 min left in the 4th, but went cold down the stretch as Moeller had a little too much depth, which wore out the Warriors late in the game.



Stars of the Regional 
Here are the top players of the Regional Games:

Amari Davis  (Trotwood) - Davis poured in 30 points in the Regional Semis against Columbus South, when the Rams needed it most, then dropped 20 more in the Championship Game.
Davis, a smooth lefty with major rise, is undoubtedly a Top 5 Junior in Ohio, maybe one of the top players in the country.

Darius Quisenberry  (Wayne) - Quisenberry was the best player all season for the Warriors and showed up big time in the Regionals again, as the Wayne Train almost defeated Moeller. The GWOC player of the Year, Quisenberry was rock solid, and is a instant starter at Youngstown State. The PG can do it all, and hit key contested buckets all year along with the ability to dunk on ya.

With a strong frame and build, Qusienberry is college ready to do major work for the Penguins next year.
Quisenberry was arguably a Top 5 player in the State this season.

Jeremiah Davenport  (Moeller) - Davenport could be headed for immediate stardom, as the 6'6 wing player took over both Regional Games in the 2nd half - when the Crusaders needed him most - as Moeller makes a back to back visit to State.

The Wright State commit has a excellent mid range game, can shoot it deep, or dunk it with the best of em. He is a intense player, who should propel the Crusaders to a OHSAA Championship.

On top of that, he should be a starter from Day 1 as the Raiders got a steal in the NBA prospect.
Yeah I said it.
Davenport is a legit NBA prospect.

Myles Belyeu (Trotwood) - Belyeu has shown that he has all the qualities to take the Rams to the state title, with a monster performance in the Regional Final (24 pts, 6 boards, 3 stls) to lead Trotwood back. Belyeu has been the most consistent player on the Rams this season. And standing at 6'4 210, Belyeu is built like a College Ready football player, but has athleticism to play both wing positions on the D-1 level.

He is one of the Top unsigned D-1 Level players in Ohio. If not the best.

He could have a similar fate like his former teammate Torrey Patton, who exploded for a record last year at the State and landed a D-1 offer from multiple schools, before signing with Akron.

Jaxson Hayes (Moeller) - Hayes, a Texas commit, dominated with his size (7'0) and agility as he helped the Crusaders get back to the final four. With his dominance in the paint and touch, he should be a huge force come This weekend, and in the future for the Longhorns.

Deshon Parker (Wayne) - Parker, headed to James Madison, was brilliant in the 1st half and throughout the game against Moeller. As the offense struggled early, Parker took on the heavy lifting, leading the Warriors to a halftime lead, often at times looking like the best player on the court.

Parker will be perfect for the Madison staff to put in, whether it will be at the 2 or the 1.
He can shoot from deep, run the point, or slash to the basket. And standing at 6'3, Parker has perfect Combo guard size for D-1. Comes from great lineage



Giovanni Santiago  (Hughes) - Santiago led Hughes to a big win in Regionals then dropped 20 in the loss against Trotwood in the Final. Santiago was a force in dropping 3s or getting to the basket.

Blue Smith (Wayne) - Blue led the Warriors to the Regional Final with a big 4th quarter over Princeton in the Regional win.
Smith, who has a knack for the big play, will take his big frame (6'6, 220) and playmaking ability to Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes as a Wide Reciever.

"Blue" has already been anointed as the "Goal Line Savior" for Ohio State as they will look to Randy Moss a few defenses this fall.


Carl Blanton (Trotwood) - The super soph showed why next year could be his breakout season, and if the Rams are to win a title, Blanton will probably have a big hand in making that happen. Blanton amassed a double double in the Regional Final and had the best statline of the night:
17pts, 10 reb, 4 dimes, 4 stls, 1 blk

Blanton, standing at 6'3, and can play 3 positions, is primed to become the next star for Trotwood and with the vets such as Belyeu and Davis to follow? Sky's the limit for the sophomore, who comes from great lineage.

Raheim Moss (Springfield)  - Moss led the Cats to a great season, and was the primary scorer in the game against Moeller. Moss is a top 10 All-Ohio player in football, and equally as dynamic on the court too. Standing 6'3, he is a super athlete who is still learning the game, but has all the tools to become a D-1 stud.
Springfield has plenty of talent and will be back too.

Moeller powers past Cats as Springfield struggles early
The Springfield Wildcats knew they would have to be on point offensively to have a shot against Moeller, a team who will play ball control despite the great talent that is boasted.

Top Junior Raheim Moss drops 2 on Moeller 

 Springfield got off to a bad start, and it was all she wrote as the Cats fell to Moeller 65-44.

  Wright State commit Jeremiah Davenport dropped 20 to lead the Crusaders on the night.

Wayne stops Princeton as Blue delivers late 
The Wayne Train stopped the All-Cincy final that was hoped for, as the Warriors used a big 4th quarter to defeat Princeton 65-58.

Youngstown State commit Darius Quisenberry makes move against Princeton in the D-1 Regional Semifinals

Blue Smith, the superstar Forward,  hit 2 huge 3's en route to taking the lead and not looking back after trailing heading into the 4th quarter.
Wayne now faces Moeller in the Regional Finals at 7:30 tonight, with the winner heading to Columbus and as the favorite for a State title.

Trotwood rolls past Columbus South in 2nd half as Belyeu, Davis explode
Myles Belyeu knew that it was now or never as the Rams were in a tight matchup with South. With another chance at a State Berth right around the corner, Belyeu and the Rams would not squander the opportunity.

So Belyeu took over, and the Rams followed suit with a resounding 79-60 win to move to the Regional Final.
 Amari Davis led the Rams in scoring, and once the dynamic 1-2 punch got going? There was no stopping Trotwood.

All-Ohio Top 10 Senior G-F Myles Belyeu slams one home on Columbus South as the Rams won 79-60. 

The Rams were down 2 at half when they
 came our firing in the 2nd half to seal the deal.
The Rams will play on Saturday at 3pm for a chance at another State Berth at Trent Arena.

Regional Final Matchups (Friday)

 Moeller  vs  Wayne
When most people asked the question, who are the best teams at the beginning of the year?
These 2 teams came up in their respective cities.
Now they will face each other for a State Berth as Moeller will host Wayne - of sorts -  at the Cintas Center tonight.

While Wayne boasts height, nobody has the height of the Moeller lineup, which averages around 6'4.

Moeller looks to prove they are the best in Ohio

However, Wayne has 3 bonafide D-1 contributors right now, and that's just only the seniors in Blue Smith, Darius Quisenberry and Deshon Parker.

This game will be a battle of wits as both teams will look to dictate the tempo.

While Moeller should have the home crowd, Wayne has been battle tested, traveling all over the country to face the top teams.

When it comes to Moeller, they haven't lost to a team in Ohio.
Yet.

 Can James Madison commit Deshon Parker lead the Warriors to a State Berth?

Wayne, the #1 team in the OHSAA poll, lost once, to Springfield, which Moeller beat twice.
 Moeller also has its own superstar in Jeremiah Davenport, who is headed to Wright State next year, along with some other very good players as well.

Can Wayne continue to navigate through its biggest test of the season?
And probably the hardest they will face?

Or will the Crusaders send the Warriors home packing?
The Cintas Center will be rocking tonight (7:30).
