Award Show Set for March 8th; Nominee List, Voting Info,
Dayton High School Sports will be hosting its 1st ever football awards show on March 8th, 2020 at Al's Smokehouse in Huber Heights, Ohio.
(3-5pm)
This will consist of the best players, coaches, staff, cheerleaders, top online plays of schools in Southwest Ohio. There will be 2 different divisions:
Dayton Public Schools Division
Southwest Ohio Division
There will be over 25 categories, that will be available to vote starting tomorrow night at 11pmEST on SELive365.com

DHSS will also launch the Final Top 100 Players rankings for DPS as well as a Top 100 Players in Southwest Ohio.
This event will look to raise awareness and create scholarships and opportunities for high school seniors that they may not have had.

Its Official: Acclaimed TV Show lands Deal with Fox Sports

Dayton HS Sports, the 2-Time Award winning sports show that has made a name over the years, especially in Southwest Ohio, has inked a deal with Fox Sports (Dayton) to air the show starting in March, per reports.
The show, which is Hosted by Deon Cash, Lorenzo Smith, Derrick Shepard, and Deon Weatherspoon, will run once a week, with the show airing on the weekends.
The show, which was created at Dayton Television, will last a hour and will feature the Top Players, Coaches, Businesses Owners, Politicians and Entertainers in the Dayton area.
We're very excited about the opportunity to show that we are one of the "Elite Sports Shows in Ohio" Cash stated.
"We want to thank Back Home Tavern for partnering up with us, and being a Sponsor of the show.

West Carrollton, Sidney battle for Miami Valley supremacy; City League Games Cancelled (Weather);
DHSS FRIDAY HEADLINES:
#2 WEST CARROLLTON HOSTS #1 SIDNEY IN MVL ACTION TONIGHT
Just 2 years ago, West Carrollton was at the bottom of the GWOC.
After hiring Anthony Parker to be the new Head Coach in 18, the Pirates have seen immediate returns on the hire, as Parker has taken the West Carrollton community, the Miami Valley League and Southwest Ohio by storm, jumping out to a 13-5 record, all the while staying in the race for the 1st ever Championship.
In his first season, he took the Pirates from 0 to 6 wins, one of the biggest jumps in 1 season in all of coaching last season.
This season the Pirates sit at 11-3 in the MVL, 2 games behind Sidney, another team who left the GWOC to form the MVL this year. They are currently on a 5-game winning streak.
And tonight, they will play the first Championship style game in over a decade at home, in front of a community that is starving for a winning organization.
While Parker has been the leader of change, he definitely hasn't done it by himself. With a AD who has worked well to help push the sports Organization forward, a rock solid coaching staff who has had their impact, and a community who is gravitating to the rising Pirates who boast some legit D-1 talent on the roster?
Something special could be brewing in Pirate country.
Tonight, however, they will take on the Yellow Jackets, who have been unstoppable in the MVL, and sit at 17-2 overall. This, after losing All-Ohio PG Andre Gordon, the dynamic starting PG for Texas A&M.
The twin brothers of Darren And Devin Taborn have lifted Sidney to one of its best regular season records of all time. And they have a relentless team who attacks offensively and can play good D the entire game.
In the last meeting the Pirates were down midway in the 3rd quarter when Sidney went on a game changing run to win easily.
Since that game the Pirates have lost just one time. To Belmont.
With the leading scorer in the league in Kalin McKinney (17.1) and the best defensive player in the league in Aigbokah Kadari (4.3 bpg, 7 rpg, 2 triple doubles), the Pirates have the tools to knock off the Yellow Jackets.
But Sidney has been playing at a elite level, and they will want nothing more but to wrap up the 1st ever MVL championship on the Pirates floor.
One thing is for sure tonight.
Expect a packed house, as the Pirates have become a hot ticket this season;
Expect a hard fought a game, as Parker and his team will always play hard from start to finish;
And expect a family atmosphere, because that is what Coach Parker is all about.
And more specifially, its what the kids, the parents, and the Organization are seeing first hand.
He loves his players, his staff, his organization as if they are his blood family.
It permeates throughout him, and spreads quickly.
You can feel it in his presence.

Dayton HS Sports partners with Payne Rec to Launch YBDL
After looking at the landscape of youth basketball for over 10 years in the Miami Valley, Dayton HS Sports decided that they wanted to be more involved with the development of the youth.
With that being said, the officials at Payne Recreation Center have decided to partner with Dayton HS Sports to launch a new youth basketball league for the boys and girls of Greater Dayton.
The new League, called the Dayton HS Sports Youth Basketball Development League (YBDL) , will launch on January 8th (Wednesday) and will run through March, per reports.
Brent Shane, one of the people who wanted to bring back a youth program at Payne Rec (Formerly named Splash Moraine), felt like it was essential to start a youth basketball program this year.
After meeting with the staff on a few separate occasions, all sides agreed to Launch the YBDL.
While the Youth Basketball Development League will focus on on court improvement, it will also work on developing the youth in the classroom and in the workforce as well.
With Dayton HS Sports winning 2 National Awards for best sports show, the goal is to also show the youth that there are options as well, that go beyond just dribbling the ball and scoring baskets.
The League will look to add Tutors, Motivational Speakers, volunteer Coaches, Big Brothers and Sisters, Parents and volunteers who are interested in helping the YBDL grow.
"We understand that there are kids who are looking for the opportunity to get better every week, and we want to provide this for them,"
Deon Cash, the CEO of Dayton HS Sports, said.
"We also understand there are factors that stop the youth from reaching their maximum potential.
We want to do everything we can to alleviate that problem for each individual."
The League will debut on January 8th, and will start with Open Training from 6-8pm.
The training is open to the public ($5 entry) and will offer a discounted price for the West Carrollton Youth Basketball Program members.
The ages will range from ages 5-15. However no kid will be turned away who wants to be helped, no matter the age.
The League will run through March.
Sponsors, donors, and volunteers are all needed.
