Its OFFICIAL: "Pac Man" set to play in Charity game; Award Show Nominee List (Dayton Public Schools)

Charity Game Update
Pac Man Jones Commits to Playing in Charity Game at West Carrollton for Tornado Victims

Adam "Pac Man" Jones, one of the best DB's to ever suit up for the Cincainnati Bengals, has decided that he will play in the Dayton HS Sports 3rd Annual Celebs vs Coaches Charity Basketball Game at West Carrollton HS on Thursday Night.

When hearing what had happened with Dayton, Jones and his reps would do some rearranging to come up and play in the event.

Jones and his reps were devastated for Dayton.
"We want to help in any way possible" Jones and his reps responded.

While Jones is excited to get out on the court, he is more excited to raise money for the city of Dayton.

Jones, his family, and his reps understand that the city of Dayton has always embraced Jones.
No matter how good, bad, or ugly the scenario has been for Jones in his high profile life of sports on and off the field.

Jones will be playing in the Charity Game at 7pm as part of the Celeb Team, along with Joe Ballard, the highly successful Harlem Globetrotter, who is known as "Jumpin Joe."

Ballard was just in New York at Rucker Park competing with the best of 'in the Nipsey Hussle Tribute Game;

Jones, who has recently retired, has hinted towards a possible future in Dayton with some possible business mergers.
The city could use his support, as the Tornadoes have done millions in damage all over the Miami Valley.

The Event doors will open at 5pm.

Blues Clues: Wayne Grad Blue Smith transfers to Cincinnati

BLUES CLUES: Smith leaves OSU, Now a Bearcat

In a move that shocked the College Football National Airwaves (especially in Ohio), highly touted Redshirt Freshman WR  L'Christian "Blue" Smith has transferred from Ohio State to Cincinnati.

Smith, one of the top players in the Country (Class of 2018), committed to Ohio State after having one of the most celebrated careers in Wayne Warrior HS History.

Nicknamed "Blue," by his family,  the freakishly athletic 6'7 wideout was prepped to compete for a starting spot this season for the Buckeyes.

But Smith was unhappy with a couple of situations that occurred, and felt like he needed to make a change sooner rather than later.

While the Ohio State family, Coach Day, and the staff wanted him to come back,  Smith had already decided he was ready to play somewhere else next season.

Add to the fact that Urban Meyer would be stepping down?

Smith took some time to think, and ultimately felt like this was the best move.

Bearcats Head Coach Luke Fickell, assistant and Wayne alumni Marcus Freeman, and the rest of the staff are elated to have Smith join the Cincinnati squad.

Due to the coaching change and NCAA Rules, Smith will have the opportunity to play this season instead of having to sit out a whole year due to D-1 transfer rules.

This also excites Smith, as he has gotten into much better shape, mentally and physically, and emotionally.

He should be a starting WR once he hits the Bearcats field this season.

He is that good.

A huge notch for a fast rising coaching staff and program as the Bearcats have already plucked a few other local players such as:

Tavion Thomas, RB - Dunbar

Leonard Taylor, TE - Springfield

With Blue joining Bearcat Nation, things are looking pretty good for Cincinnati to make some noise in the National Ranks this year.

As for Blue?
He's ready to be a Bearcat and is excited for what he can bring to the Program.

Expect a Huge Season from the NFL prospect and we could be seeing the a "Big 3" Forming at Cincy.

Its OFFICIAL: πŸ“°Dayton HS Sports All Star πŸ€ Games ⛹🏾‍♂️⛹🏾‍♀️Set for Nutter Center on Cinco De MayoπŸ”₯πŸŽ‰

Its Official:
Dayton HS Sports, the 2 -Time Award Winning TV Show, has partnered up with NM Sports to launch
Its 1st ever Senior High School Showcase.

The games, which will feature a girls game followed     by the boys game, will be played at the Ervin J. Nutter Center, home of the Wright State Raiders.

This event is part of a "Basketball Fiesta" on May 5th, or Cinco De Mayo, the famous day for the Mexican, Latin, Cuban, and Dominican communities.

NM Sports, the successful sports business who has a Pro-Am League going on at Wright State, had indicated in recent months that they would be launching a event with High School kids in the near future.

But when the word got to NM Sports that Dayton HS Sports was pushing the idea to the masses this season, Alexander Patten (CEO of NM Sports) decided to partner up.

The idea had been discussed in 2018 in Dayton HS Sports circles but due to the instability within DPS, the event was stalled.

Fast forward to this year.

After a couple of positive meetings, after looking at the numbers, and with the ability to get into one of the premiere basketball Arenas in Southwest Ohio?

With committments from 15 of the top Seniors in Southwest Ohio?
And the clearance from OHSAA?

Was a No-Brainer.
The game is in full effect.

Look for a early update of rosters and a tenative schedule early next week.

The list is fast growing of committments, the best players in Ohio.

Will
OHSAA State Champ Amari Davis (Trotwood),
Texas A&M committ Andre Gordon (Sidney),
Mr. Basketball -Samari Curtis (Xenia),
or Even LaMelo Ball (Spire Academy) be in the boys game?
Hmmmm.....

LaMelo Ball back in Dayton?

The MVP of Each Game will be presented with a Partial Scholarship to his or her school of choice
(Granted they play basketball next season in college)

Tickets will go on Sale this weekend (online).
A portion of proceeds will go directly to Dayton HS Sports Scholarship Foundation.

Next week you will be able to go to a few different locations to buy them in case you dont want to buy them online.

We are still in need of sponsors, donors, and volunteers.

Week 2 OHSAA : Sectional Final Recap: District Title Games Schedule; Stars of Sectionals

Heres the Top Headlines from a Intense Week 2 in the OHSAA Tournament:

(1) Trotwood 🐏πŸ”₯πŸ”₯rolls past Meadowdale 🦁 to Sectional Title πŸ†

The Rams turned another hyped game into a rout, as they jumped out on the Lions early and often to a big win 95-38.
Amari Davis, the GWOC, District 15 Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball candidate and  "Mr. Dayton HS Sports"  candidate, was too much for the young but talented Lions to handle.

While Lions Coach Dwayne Chastain was upset about not winning, he felt his team played hard, had a good showing in the tournament overall and has a very bright future in the upcoming years.

Trotwood will face another City League opponent for the District Title as they take on Thurgood tonight (7:30pm)

(2) Thurgood πŸ’œπŸ† claims Sectional, ready for Rams
The Cougars continued to use their stifling Defense to shut down the Hamilton Badin squad and win the Sectional Title in Middletown 67-53.
The Cougars, who were tested, was able to ride the Elmore brothers, Anthony McComb, and a balanced attack to seal the deal. The defense has been stifling, especially in the 1st half.
Next game for the Cougars?

The highly anticipated rematch of Trotwood.
(7:30 pm UD Arena)

(3) Springfield πŸ±πŸ†too deep for Sidney ⭐⭐as Stephens clutchπŸ’ͺ😈
In one of the top games of the Weekend, Springfields' trio proved to be too much for All -American candidate and Va Tech committ Andre Gordon as the won a tough battle 65-60.
In a game that was tight throughout, Springfield held a 8 point lead midway through the 4th quarter when Gordon took over.
Sidney would get it to 2 but Springfield Jr G Larry Stephens Jr, Sr Star G Raheim Moss, and steady and fast rising G David Sanford was able to guide the Cats to its 4th consecutive District Title Game.

Springfield will face Cincy Elder in their infamous 9pm finale (Saturday Night).

(4) Stivers πŸ…πŸ―πŸ†steamrolls Waynesville, looks to rematch πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ”₯πŸ”₯(D-3)
Stivers rode All-Ohio Junior G Trevon Ellis to a triple double to a Sectional win over Waynesville.
Ellis has a knack for doing whatever the team needs, and while was slightly overlooked for Dayton Public Schools and District 15 Player of The Year Awards, he is no doubt the Player the Tigers look to when things go awry.

Stivers will face the State Champs (Deer Park), the team that ousted them in the tounament last season in this same round on Sunday (3pm) at UD Arena.

(5) Taft πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ˜²knocks off #1 seed Hughes, faces πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ Northridge🐻🐻 team (D-2)
Eyeballs were raised when Taft decided to join Hughes in the same Sectional bracket.
Well, those eyeballs have widened, as the the Taft Senators knocked off Hughes to win the Sectional title and to setup the Regional Matchup with Trotwood that some expect may be predicting.
However Northridge might have something to say about that
Northridge has stormed to a Sectional with a huge win over #2 seed Ben Logan 64-35.
Led by All-League Player Senior Twon' Hines, can the Polar Bears continue to roll and knock off one of Cincys Powerhouse teams?

Taft will play Northridge tonight at UD Arena (9:30)

(6) Fairmont πŸ’™wins emotional gameπŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜’ over Wayne πŸš„ (D-1)
The Fairmont Firebirds,  playing with a heavy heart, took the tragedy and turned it into fuel as they were able to hold off Wayne to win the Sectional Title on Monday Night.
Fairmont held the lead for most of the game, but Wayne made a huge run to cut it to 2 on a Ronnie Hampton basket with less than 2 min remaining.
However the missed FT, and a couple key defensive stops to go with some made FTs and a big basket gave the Firebirds all they needed to squeeze past Wayne.

#6 Fairmont will face a Tough #2 Lakota East team, who just beat Steve Wright led Princeton 52-43 squad to get to the District title game.
The Game will be Saturday at UD Arena (7pm)

Our prayers go out to the families of the kid of a apparent suicide who was a former player for the Fairmont squad. The game was postponed because of the shocking news.

(7) Brookvile πŸ‘€πŸ‘€falls in OT, ends historic season (D-3)
The Blue Devils season came to an end, in a 2-point loss in the Sectional Finals to Versailles in OT.
Led by All-State Candidate Jacob Gudorf, the Brookeville squad enjoyed their best season ever, amassing the most wins in school history.

(8) Wayne girls fall, Centerville girls cruise (D-1)
The Wayne girls season ended with a loss in the District Finals last weekend.
Coach Travis Trice had hoped to get the girls to its First Regional Semi, but it was not to be as the Warriors couldnt find the range before it was too late.
Coach Trice has a wealth of talent and his seniors have all committed to D-1 schools.

On the other hand, the Centerville Lady Elks are 1 win away from the State after another big win last night.
Good luck to the Lady Elks this weekend as they go for a trip to the Final Four.

(9) Centerville🦌⭐🌟πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ† boys looks impressive in big win (D-1)
The Elks havent lost in 2 months, and they continued the trend with a big win over Butler for the Sectional Title.
With the Tim Duncan like Mo Nije' in the paint and star G Ryan Marchal running the show, Coach Cupps and the #1 Elks are hoping they can reach the Regional Semifinals after this weekend.
They will face a tough Mason team on Saturday.

(10) Alter ♞♞πŸ—‘πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ†continues its torrid shooting, wins easily (D-2)
The Alter Knights, still rolling from its huge win over C-J, advanced easily with another big win over Fenwick 71-52..
The Knights have blown out all the competition, but will face a stiff test as Cincinnati Aiken (who defeated Wyoming 65-56) will head to town ready to take  a District Title back to the Nati.
Gametime?
 Tonight at 5:30 (UD Arena)

Top Players in the Sectionals:πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

In the Game of the Night, can Thurgood exact revenge on the Beasts of Southwest  Ohio the last 5 years? The Rams boast Mr Basketball option Amari Davis and a celebrated cast of players who are stars in their own right. One thing to watch; The Start of Thurgood and Trotwood, as both teams have gotten off to great starts. Which team gets the jump first tonight?

Northridge, one of the surprise participants, will face its stiffest competition yet as they face a state ranked Taft team who jus knocked off the #1 seeded Hughes in the Sectional Final. A team who is built for a State run, they seem to be hitting their stride. Can the 2 -headed dynamic duo of Northridge continue to carry the Polar Bears to another deep run?  Or will Taft take the District back to the Nati?
