State Berth on Line Tonight as Springfield, Alter, Bellbrook Remain; City League Title Up For Grabs as Belmont, Thurgood Battle; Award List, Top 100 at Harvest

With only a few teams still left in the Miami Valley area in football, lets see the matchups for this weeks Regional final game.

Win this game and head to the OHSAA Semifinals - Which Teams Are Still Left?

Can Smoot lead Cats to State?

ALTER VS BADIN

The Knights have found themselves after a rough start  this season, as they have reeled off 7 straight, capped by  a sensational performance against the state champs (Trotwood 42-0) last week.

They will face one of the teams that knocked off the Knights earlier this season - Badin. Badin still looks as strong as ever.  Will the Knights exercise their demons or fall again?

Powell Olentangy Liberty  Vs  Springfield

Olentangy has had success against other teams in the GWOC, as they shut down Miamisburg and Fairmont to only 1 score in both games.

While those teams are respectable,  they are not the Maurice Douglass Sr Springfield Wildcats,  who have all the key ingredients to reach the OHSAA Championship; A vastly underrated but hard hitting defense, a coaching staff that is one of the best in Ohio, and a elite QB who is ready for the moment.

Look for a tight game but we feel this is Springfield's year.

Thurgood  vs Belmont for City League Title Tonight

Thurgood will try to battle for the Dayton Public Schools Football Championship against the 5 time champions in Belmont tonight at Welcome  Stadium.

While Belmont has been the elite team for most of the last 6 years in DPS, they should be wary. As evidenced by the Ponitz defeat of Dunbar,  that no matter what you havee done, can you bring it when it counts? Can Thurgood turn the tide in a Bison stampede over the city League?

Award List, Top 100 To Be Announced at Harvest

The Dayton HS Sports 2020 Football Award Nominee List will be Announced tonight along with the Top 100 Football Players as well in Southwest Ohio.

Week 3 Recap: Wayne wins late; Alter Rolls; Springfield, Northmont undefeated; Stebbins Knocks off MVL Champs; Stars of Week 3

Here's the Top Headlines and Weekly Recap  for Week 3 in the football landscape in the Miami Valley:

Dunbar, Belmont open City League Action Tonight; Trotwood Set for Saturday

The Belmont Bison will open up their 5-year City League championship run tonight against their nemesis, the Dunbar Wolverines, at Welcome Stadium tonight. The teams, who found out they could play 2 weeks ago, will square off at 7pmET.

Belmont, who are led by Coach Earl White, have a trio of seniors who will try to lead the way in Tavon Hardwick, Joddi Burton, and Kiko Garcia. Dunbar, who has a loaded team, will lean on the likes of Jamar Payton and Gregory Packnett Jr as new head coach James Lacking takes over the helm.

While Dunbar knows they have the talent across the board to win, can they match wits with one of the the top coach coaches in DPS history?

Trotwood will take on Ponitz on Saturday afternoon as they prepare to defend their 3rd championship they won last season. The Rams chances at playing were also reversed a couple weeks ago, when the Trotwood Board voted to bring high school sports back, starting in the fall.

Big Plays, defense help Undefeated Springfield past Fairmont

After a Fairmont TD to tie the game at 7, Springfield would go on a 20-0 run to take control of the game and defeat Fairmont 27-21. While Fairmont dominated the ball, Springfield made all the plays to seize the momentum early. Tae'Sean Smoot, the All-State Candidate, threw for a TD and ran for another TD as the Cats move to 3-0 in the season.

Wayne stops Elks despite Harrisons big Game

After watching Chase Harrison put on a exhibition for almost 3 quarters, Wayne QB Cam Fancher had seen enough. Centerville had pulled out to a 23-14 lead late in the 3rd, and it was looking as if the Elks would push towards a victory.  Harrison, a junior D-1 prospect, had thrown his 3rd TD, and seemed to be in complete control.

Fancher, the Georgia State commit who was having a average game at best until then, showed why he's one of the best QBs in Ohio as he directed the Warriors on two huge game salvaging drives, and the Warriors rallied to defeat Centerville 28-23.

Fancher showed his clutch gene and why Wayne has a chance to go deep in the playoffs, by completing a 35-yard pass to Bryan Kinley with 15 seconds left. With the win Wayne moves to 2-1 while Centerville drops to 1-2.

Stebbins Outlasts Xenia to start 3-0

Last year Stebbins got blown out against the Miami Valley League champions. This season, they took the reeling champs best shot, as Xenia jumped out to a 16-3 lead. But Player of the Year Candidate and Indians QB Nate Keller lead the troops back as he threw 2 TD passes to WR Dalton King, and rising RB Marvelous Rutledge finished off the Bucs with a late TD to give Stebbins a big win 26-23. Stebbins moves to 3-0 for the first time in decades.  Meanwhile, Xenia drops to 0-3.

Rice, Allen lead Bolts to a easy win over Beavers

Caden Rice and  Markus Allen and the Northmont team was too much for Beavercreek to handle, as the Bolts improve to 3-0 after a big win. The former Michigan commit, WR Markus Allen, went 4 for 95 with a TD while Rice threw 3 TDs in the 42-8 rout.

Alter comes out strong to get 1st W on season

Alter smacked Middletown Fenwick to get their first win on the season as the Knights now move to 1-2 on the early season. Which Alter team will we see in the next 3 games?

Bellbrook topples Valley View in SWBL Game of the Week

Bellbrook was able to use a Seth Borondy TD run in OT to stop the Spartans by a score of 28-21 as two of the best in the SWBL squared off. After Valley View tied it on a Ben Owens run to force OT. Bellbrook moves to 3-0 while Valley View falls to 2-1.

C-J falls again

The Eagles lost to Hamilton Badin as Chaminade falls to 1-2 on the season after what looked like a good start. They had no rhythm against a strong Badin defense, and now will look to get on track in 2nd portion of the season.

Top Players in Week 3:

Cade Rice, QB  Northmont - Rice 3 TD's too much for Beavers

Tae'Sean Smoot, QB Springfield -Smoot has been in complete control

Chase Harrison, QB Centerville -Harrison was as sharp as he as ever been; 24-41, 3 TD's

C.J. Hicks, LB  Alter - Hicks INT for a TD and his running propelled Knights.

Cam Fancher, QB  Wayne- Fancher showed heart by leading 2 TD drives late to beat Cville

Jasiah Medley, RB Piqua- Medley was unstoppable as he racked up 161 yards, 3 TDs

Jeremy Holloway, DB-WR Stebbins - Holloway's INT, 4 catches huge for Indians

Alex Petry - DL  Bellbrook - Petry forced fumble and TD run keyed big win

Brian Shane - QB Alter  -Shane threw for 2 TD's and ran for another in leading Alter

Nate Keller, QB Stebbins - Keller was a force, as he threw for 2 TDs in another key win

Nick Kaweki, RB, Troy - Kaweki 200+ rushing performance led Trojans to a big win.

Week 3 Key Games; Athlete of the Week; New Partnership with Varsity House; DPS, Trotwood Readies for Comeback

Here are the Top Games for Week 3

Wayne at Centerville

In a game featuring another elite QB  battle in Cam Fancher (Wayne) and Chase Harrison (Centerville), which team will stand up and move to 2-1 on the season? Both teams have shown the ability to march up the field by run or by air. The bigger question remains; which defense will step up when needed most?

Fairmont at Springfield

Can the Firebirds knock off the Top team in DHSS Rankings? The Cats have won 2 close games against 2 tough opponents. Can Fairmont use its running game to stop a well rounded and very focused Springfield team who is led by All-State caliber QB Tae'Sean Smoot?

Fenwick at Alter

The Knights are in desperation mode, as they will face a solid Fenwick team tonight at home. While they were touted as a team to watch early, they haven't started 0-2 in a while. While every team will make the playoffs, could we actually see a 0-3 team with the elite players the Knights have?

Stebbins at Xenia

In a role reversal of sorts, Stebbins is sitting at 2-0 while Xenia, the Miami Valley champs, is 0-2 and fading fast after claiming the title last year. Can the Bucs stop the losing skid against a physically tough and talented Stebbins team?

Northmont at Beavercreek

The Bolts will look to stay undefeated in a game that they could roll up some major offensive numbers against a weak defense in the Beavers.

Valley View at Bellbrook

In a game that features a upstart team in Bellbrook against another who has dominated over the years in Valley View. Which team will get a leg up on the SWBL Championship?

VARSITY HOUSE set to Sponsor Athlete of the Week for School Year

The Varsity House, a clothing store located in the heart of downtown Dayton, will be leading the Athlete of The Week this season, as they are partnering up with Dayton HS Sports during the 2020-21 School Season.

They will provide the Athlete of the Week Episodes and will also host Dayton HS Sports TV Shows at their downtown location, which will be launching soon.

Stay tuned for more details as they move closer to the opening.

DPS, Trotwood near Games

Dayton Public Schools and Trotwood will lace it up next week, and it will be a good sight to see. While it won't be without risk, it will be nice to watch the young stars of Trotwood and Dayton Public Schools teams get back on the field. DPS will get back in action with Belmont and Dunbar squaring off next Thursday night.

Miamisburg, West Carollton, Fairborn sit due to Covid-19 Case

Springboro, West Carollton, and Fairborn all have encountered a case of Covid-19, and now will have to sit down for 2 weeks. Springboro had a junior varsity player, while West Carrollton and Fairborn both had 1 player who contracted the virus in the program. Due to rules, the entire program must sit out for 2 weeks, then after testing negative be allowed to play.

Week 2 Key Games; Trotwood To Resume Fall Sports; Low Covid-19 Cases

With Week 1 of HS Football in the books, we are now looking at Week 2 as we check out the

Top Games in Week 2:

(1) Springfield  @ Centerville (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 5 of 5)

In the DHSS Game of The Week, which highly touted Junior QB will lead his team to a 2-0 record? Chase Harrison (Centerville)  or Tae'Sean Smoot (Springfield)? Both QBs are headed to big time D-1 schools, but the key will be the defense, as Springfield looks top notch early in the season. How will Elks D respond tonight to one of the best QBs in Ohio?

(2) Miamisburg @ Wayne  (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4.5 of 5)

CAn Wayne Bounce Back?

Can the Wayne Train get on track against a charged up Vikings team? Miamisburg handled business against Beavercreek but can they stop a angry Wayne squad?  The Warriors missed on a couple of opportunities that cost them a chance last week.

Look for a offensive breakout from the Warriors in Huber Heights.

(3) Sidney @ Stebbins    (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4.0 of 5)

Sidney blasted Greenville in the first game, but they will be taking on a tough Stebbins team who pulled off a big comeback, led by Senior RB Marvaleous Rutledge 2 TSs and 100+ yards rushing.

But it was the defense that stepped up for the Indians holding Pirates scoreless late and hitting hard throughout the game.

How good is Sidney?

(4) West Carrollton @ Fairborn (🏈👀🔥 Meter: 4 of 5)

Will Defense Player of Year Candidate Cole Mccandless be back for Fairborn game?

In a game that will be a fun one to watch, which West Carrollton team will be in Fairborn tonight? The 1st half  team that dominated behind the likes of Kamury Cleveland? Or the 2nd half one that gave up the lead? Fairborn will look to ground and pound its way to a 2-0 season, led by a two-headed running game that was efficient enough to knock off the Miami Valley League champions in Xenia.

(5) Carroll @ C-J   (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4 of 5)

In a GCL rivalry, that usually hits hard, can C-J move to 2-0 against a Patriots team that gives the Eagles a hard time? Are the Eagles the real deal?

(6) Badin @Alter  (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4.5 of 5)

The Knights make their debut at home this week, after losing a shootout at Clinton-Massie; How good is this Alter team? We will find out more tonight. Look for big numbers from the running game tonight against a Badin team that was good last season.

(7) Franklin @ Bellbrook (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 3.5 of 5)

Can Franklin travel to Eagle country and go 2-0? Bellbrook came out with fire in their eyes last week. Can they keep it up against one of the favorites in the SWBL in the Wildcats?

(8) Fairmont @ Northmont (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4 of 5)

While we don't want to ride the hype train, but make a note:  Northmont went from a Organization that was the average last year, and in pure dissaray to a team who could possibly win a GWOC title? They added a top transfer QB to with elite baller and Michigan commit Marcus Allen and now what? Look for a focused Fairmont team tonight after letting one slip away last week. Should be a close one.

(9) Valley View @ Monroe  (🏈🔥👀 Meter: 4 of 5)

The Spartans picked up where they left off last season- pummeling teams in the SWBL - as they won easily last week. Can Monroe stand up to the challenge?

The Spartans are favorites to win the SWBL, even in the shortened season.

Ram Nation Back in Fall Sports; Good or Bad Move?

After a Meeting Held in Trotwood by the Trotwood Board and some Officials, it has been reported that the Rams will try to start their fall season. After initially being one of the first Disticts to shut down due to the Covid-19 crisis,  it initially was applauded and it was seem that the Rams and the rest of high school sports would wait until 2021.

However things have changed in the last 2 months, and the energy that was against sports during this time, has shifted towards sports coming back into the normal phase. This is still  a problem as Covid-19 has risen with colleges and schools letting kids back into classrooms.  But make no mistake: Sports is a welcome necessity for most.

With the Lumpkin brothers speaking on some issues earlier in the week, the Rams were one of the last schools to allow sports to come back. The good thing is that the Rams made it back in time to be able to compete in the OHSAA Tournament.

"These kids deserve a chance to compete for a chance to better their future," John Lumpkin stated. All of our younger kids are playing at C-J and other programs due to us being shut down. Do you think they are not trying to get those kids to stay?"

Trotwood will resume practices this upcoming week.

Low Cases Provide Hope During Covid-19 Season

The biggest key for sports to continue is for a low percentages on the weekly cases of  the Covid-19  outbreak among teams. While there haven't been hardly any reported cases, this next week or two will tell the story of if the season is to continue. If there aren't many cases in the nexr week or two, that could be enough to propel the different districts to realizing that there can be organized sports during this pandemic.

While last week people were on pins and needles, it was also a sense of normalcy.

How will it feel tonight in Week 2 All over the Miami Valley?

Dayton HS Sports Inks Deal With Owens Management, Michael Wright

Tommy Owens volunteers at Faith Fellowship

Dayton HS Sports, the award winning local sports show that has been on Fox Sports Dayton for the last 5 months, has agreed to a new deal with media giant Owens Entertainment, which is owned by Tommy Owens, and features Star Attorney Michael Wright and his team.

The deal will help keep Dayton HS Sports on the airwaves of Fox Sports Dayton and IheartRadio during the fall sports season.

Owens, who made the announcement during a Facebook LIVE segement, has plans to work with the Sports show and understands the value of the show and what it means to the city of Dayton.

"We are thrilled to work with Cash and Dayton HS Sports," Owens stated.

He and his staff have worked hard to get where they are. The sky's the limit."

Michael Wright is one of the most highly publicized Attorneys in Ohio and promotes heavily on TV and Radio. He has worked some of the biggest cases in the last few years, including the John Crawford case.

Look for Owens, Wright, and Dayton HS Sports to provide more information later this week on some upcoming announcements between both parties.

"We feel blessed to be able to provide a quality show for the sports community of Dayton" Cash, the CEO of DHSS, stated. Now it's time to go to the next level, and show why we are the best show in Ohio. We thank T.O. Michael Wright and Owens Management for the opportunity to work with them.  We are beyond excited."

Dayton Public Votes to Bring Back Fall Sports; Trotwood, Jefferson on way?

After seemingly unwilling to budge to bringing fall Sports back for months,  the Dayton Public Schools Board held a final meeting on Friday to decide if  fall sports will be brought back to start practicing or if it was to be postponed until January.

It was approved almost unanimously,  which is interesting considering a week ago, it seemed all but a done deal that it would be cancelled.

Just a day after Columbus decided to bring back their sports, DPS decided to join them as they will start practice this weekend.

With it almost being close to a unanimous vote (5-1-1) it was a sigh of relief for the DPS student athletes, coaches, and parents whose tireless efforts kept the heat on the Board and their conscience front and center.

With the votes of Will Smith and others on the board, the students will now start the process of getting sports back during the 2020-21 season. While it wont be the same as normal, it will still give life to a program which, is already deciding to cut hundreds of jobs, and has taken a lot of heat.

While that is a serious issue on its' own, the one thing for sure is that Friday nights are for football. Add to the fact that fall sports are as essential to any student athletes life as anything in this point and time in their lives.

That's why when most of the DPS kids were asked, "Do they want Covid-19?"  they immediately said "No."

But in the very next sentence they expressed the fact of risking their health, no questions asked, to play.

"We just want a chance to play," Belmont senior RB Tavon Hardwick stated. Everyone else is playing. We want to play too."

Now comes the hard part.

Can DPS athletes, parents, Faculty, and staff take the necessary steps to keep everything on point during this time of panic?

Everything is riding on it.

Play ball Dayton Public Schools.

But stay responsible.

Week 1 Key Games; Top 10 Players To Watch; Columbus City Schools Brings Sports Back; Top Games of Week 1

With the Covid-19 crisis still looming, the GWOC, the MVL, and the GCL and other schools have decided to move forward with fall sports.

While volleyball and other sports started earlier  this week, football kicks off tonight, albeit in a shortened season.

But at this point? Any season is a good season, provided there aren't any tragic accidents that occur.

Here are Key Games in Week 1 as we ready for a season.

(1) Wayne @ Springfield

With the Wayne Train looking to get back to the elite level this season, the key will be Roosevelt Mukes and his ability to integrate his system and style into the Warriors players and staff. Last year was tough, after legend Jay Minton stepped down unexpectedly.

With the likes of their senior Stars and high profile recruits such as Cam Fancher (QB), Elijah Brown (TE-WR), and Jaden Hurd (S), it could be a banner year for the Warriors.

Springfield, after having a very good season last year,  will rely on the talents of Top Junior QB Tae'Sean Smoot.

Smoot, already offered by Kentucky, could be ready for a breakout type season that could propel him into the Top 10 QB discussion in the country by the end of the year. He has gotten a myriad of hype and his workouts that his dad has him do are stuff of legends.

He is that good, but the Cats have some other players who are ready to step in the spotlight after the Cats lost the likes of Larry Stephens III, Jeff Tolliver, Tavion Smoot, Jokell Brown, and other top players off a team that was 1 quarter away from the State Semifinals last season.  You know Coach Douglass has his troops ready for war, especially against the Wayne Warriors.

Alter  @ Clinton Massie - Can the Knights start their season on a good note against a perennially tough and prepared Massie team? With D-1 talent all over the field, can Massie pull out the gameplan to stop C.J. Hicks, Derrick Shepard and the Knights?

Stebbins  @ West Carrollton - Two upstart teams looking to get off to a fast start with both programs boasting D-1 talent. With Pirates Head Coach Dion Black in his 2nd year as coach, look for his style to be implemented much more this season.  Stebbins looks to take advantage of its talented young group

Centerville @ Fairmont - Will Junior Star QB Harrison lead the Elks back to prominence this season? Or will the Firebirds who still have talent back, be able to get a big home win against a rival?

Fairborn @ Xenia - Can Xenia defend its MVL crown after a good season last year under Trace Smitherman?  Look for a inspired Xenia team tonight. Fairborn will be up for the challenge.

Troy  @ Piqua - Can the Trojans, who made the playoffs last year, take out their rival, who they have beaten the past couple years? Look out for Troy senior WR  , as the 2 sport star could be headed for a breakout season?

Butler  @ Tippecanoe - Can Coach Puckett get his Aviators squad back at the top of the GWOC this season? With a young hungry team in tow, can defeat a solid Tipp team who also has deep playoff hopes?

Harrison @ Chaminade - Can the Eagles shake off the excruciating playoff loss at home and get back to the top of the GCL again? With the likes of Ward and Co in the defensive side, look for Eagles to be ready for this season opener against Cincinnati Harrison.

10 Players to watch Early this Season:

Tae'Sean Smoot- QB (Springfield)

Cam Fancher  - QB (Wayne)

C.J. Hicks  -LB (Alter)

Derrick Shepard  - OL-DL (Alter)

Jason Ward  -DB (C-J)

Eljiah Brown -TE, WR (Wayne)

Jacob Harrison - QB (Centerville)

Kamryn Cleveland - QB (West Carrollton)

Tyron Darby - RB  (West Carrollton)

Shaeden Olden - WR (Troy)

Columbus Public Schools Resumes Sports, will other Ohio cities follow?

Columbus Public Schools decided that they will resume fall sports, with football starting this Saturday.

While the numbers were staying at the same level, and even having dips in the percentages during the last months, gave officials the courage to decide to give the kids a shot.

While it remains to be seen if any other metropolitan cities in Ohio will come back as well, but regardless, Columbus felt like they could run a league, be responsible, and try to give the kids, parents, and district hope that things can be done despite the threat of Covid-19.

Eman Jones, Artist on Dayton HS Soundtrack, Signs With Roc Nation

Eman Jones, one of the most talented artists in the country, has negotiated a deal with Jay-Z and his Roc-Nation brand this week.

A few years ago Jay-Z wanted to send his cousin, who was a top basketball recruit, to play for the Dayton Flyers hoop team.

Now Hov and Roc Nation will be adding a 5-Star recruit from Dayton to his label as Jones has committed to a Distribution deal with Roc-Nation.

Jones, from Dayton, had met with Roc Nation a while back, as a few of his songs and his style had caught the eye of the billionaire and his team.

Jones, who is featured on the wildly underrated Dayton HS Sports Soundtrack album, had hinted recently that major moves were about to be in store.

(LISTEN TO DAYTON HS SPORTS SOUNDTRACK)

And, boy was he right, as the Roc Nation team had gotten word to his new releases, and wanted to see if they could sign the talented rap artist who speaks on current issues with the clarity and lyrical ability that will be something special in the near future.

It is reported that at the last meeting between Jones and Roc Nation that one of Jay's
family members and camp was very excited on the opportunity to work with Jones.

So much so, that they felt it was imperative so lock down the distribution deal with the  rising music star from Ohio.
ASAP.

Jones, a Chaminade Julienne grad, and his camp are very grateful for the opportunity, and he knows this is a "Once In A Lifetime" type of chance. Very few artists get to work with one of the greats and the team at Roc Nation.

Jones, who is as humble as it gets for a star artist on the rise, ready for the partnership?

Best believe he is.

Follow Eman and us on the Journey!

DPS, Trotwood, Middletown Postpones Sports; GWOC, Miami Valley League Continue on; Can You Run A Successful League During Covid-19?

In a wild week in which the Covid-19 virus forced OHSAA to make a tough decision, Dayton Public Schools, Trotwood, and Middletown Schools have all decided to postpone their fall sports, per reports this weekend.

The Health Department had given each district a Rules and Regulations Packet on what would and would not be allowed for the upcoming 2020-21 high school sports Season.

While it was recommended that schools need to cancel or postpone their seasons if they can't adhere to the requirements,  it was and has not been mandated that they cannot play this season.

If the rules can be followed, then each district can have their season, as long as the Covid-19 outbreak is controlled by officials and the district.

With that being said, the GWOC and Miami Valley Conference have decided to continue on with all of  their fall sports for the 2020-21 season.

While this is a tense time in U.S. history, it has been shown that if you have the resources, the organization, the time to prepare and partner up with the right Businesses?

You can possibly do a sports season under the Covid-19 effect.

We have seen both sides of how quickly the Covid-19 pendulum can swing.

Baseball, who does not work in a bubble type format, have over 25 cases within 2 Organizations after the first week.
They have had to hold 25+ games, and now have 2 franchises who are sitting out this week in Miami Marlins and the  St Louis Cardinals, who now have multiple players and staff members with it as well.

The Marlins basically went out one night and now it has spread throughout the entire organization.

While the MLB has 30 teams, they are already on the brink of shutting the season down unless they can get control, despite what comissioner Paul Manfred has said.

On the flip side, organizations such as the NBA, MLS, and WNBA have all fleed to a "Bubble Style" of preparation,  and for the most part, have had good success with keeping the numbers low.

Major League Soccer had a couple of cases, which took out 2 teams early, but has had no problems in the last two weeks.

The WNBA has had very few cases as well.

As far as the NBA, they have had cases, with big name players as well.

While there were singular cases, they have been able to manage all the cases, and now have 0 positive tests in over 340 players after 2 solid weeks in "The Bubble."

What makes "The Bubble" so great? And why is it working to a degree?

The NBA has done a few things that other sports could take ideas from. And the NBA watched the TBT, the 1 Million dollar winner take all open Tournament held in Columbus, Ohio just a couple weeks ago.

What have the NBA and other sports done to keep Covid-19 numbers down?

  • They monitor players on and off court with a pager style buzzer that lets executives and officials know if players are too close to other people.

  •  Testing on a daily basis.

  •  Not letting people in or out of bubble. Once your out, you're out and have to quarantine for 10 days to get back in.

while there are other protocols, these are some the keys to being able to run a successful League in such a anxious time.

And while testing daily and weekly could be a problem financially for high school districts, it's irrelevant when it comes to pro sports.

So how could a high school be responsible and have a sports season?

There are a couple ways that High School sports could have a season, albeit will be with cautious optimism.

(1) Create a "Bubble Style" Atmosphere
While creating the Bubble Style Atmosphere that the pros have is not likely or a exact science, you can create a similar atmosphere within your own organizations.
Keep student athletes separated from other people, but within the confines of the team restrictions. So, in essesnce, stay away from general public, most friends and family as well.

(2) Test Weekly

(3) Partner with local Covid-19 Testing agcenies who can help with testing.

(4) Find a Campus or a Location that could hold the amount of kids for the League you are running. Bring in the people who could keep kids fed, and make sure that the social distancing and testing measures are available as well.

(5) Give Each Athlete a Waiver form
While this is not the most popular choice, it might be the best choice for this year.
At the end of the day, the kids and parents are responsible for their own future. And sports has provided opportunities unlike anything else has.

With Spring sports being cancelled last season and Fall Sports on its heels?

There's not many options left on the table.
Did DPS react too soon or did they do what was ethically right and be the trendsetters?

Only time will tell.

BBGL RECAP: ELLIOTT, EAGLES WIN MADDEN 20 SEASON; T.J. LOTT CAPTURES 2K TOURNEY; LEGENDS LEAGUE WEEK 1 AWARDS; MADDEN AWARDS, MYPLAYER TOURNEY

In the last 2 Weeks, the action has been heavy in the Big Boy Gamer League.

There have been 2 Champions crowned, and a Legends League in full effect in the last 10 days.

Heres the Top Headlines and Stories in the last couple weeks:

T.J. Lott Captures NBA2k Open Tournament  in OT

T.J. Lott, one of the top Players in the BBGL nba2k circuit, secured his first ever 2k Open Tournament  1 vs 1 Championship by defeating Sheltt Sheltt in the Finals in overtime, as he was able to outlast his opponent and shine.
Lott was able to go undefeated in the entire tournament,  racking up a 5-0 record en route to the Prize and Championship.

Sheltt, who won the first 2k Season, fought valiantly through a rigorous losers bracket, but came up short late in the game, falling in OT late and finishing 2nd.

Sheltt was currently ranked #2 in the BBGL 2k rankings, while Lott was ranked in Top 5.

T.J. Elliott Rolls to Super Bowl Win as Eagles stop Ravens;
Rivalry in the Making as Chip Challenged

T.J. Elliott, one of the best Madden players in the BBGL, showed he was the best in season 1 as he secured a 41-14 smackdown of Sheltt Sheltt and the Ravens in the BBGL Super Bowl.

Sheltt would be without League MVP runner up Lamar Jackson, and without Jackson the Eagles would capitalize on that, earning the first ever Championship Trophy

"This feels great!" when asked about the win. I felt like i was one of the best Madden players in the BBGL, and I showed that." Elliott stated.

When asked about the flurry of early free agents and early moves he made that some felt was too early in the preseason, Elliott flatly answered, "Free Agency was open to everyone, you jus mad cuz I beat you."

That was in response o the 49ers Organization feeling like the Eagles stacked their team early before others could have  a chance.
Do we have a budding rivalry? Interesting to see.

Nevertheless, salute to the BBGL Madden 20 Champions
The Philadelphia Eagles (T.J. Ellott) in Season 1.

BOBBY MARTIN "ESPY STORY” TO BE TOLD ON FOX SPORTS ON MOTHERS DAY

ESPY WINNER AND DAYTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS LEGEND PASSES IN CRASH
“BOBBY MARTIN ESPY STORY” TO BE TOLD ON FOX SPORTS ON MOTHERS DAY

Bobby Martin, one of the most inspirational athletes to ever play in Dayton Public Schools and OHSAA history, passed away in a ATV accident recently.

His story will be told on SELive365 Sports Show as
Kerry Ivy, the 3-Time OHSAA Champion of the Trotwood Rams, will come on set of Fox Sports Dayton (WONE 980 AM or Iheartradio APP) on Mothers Day to tell the amazing story of Martin.

The show will air from 8-9 AM and can be listened to for free, on the Iheartradio App.

Ivy was looked at as Bobby Martin’s father, as Martin acknowledged on social media and in his family circle.

Martin, one of the first players to actually play football without legs, was a defensive lineman and special teams player for the Colonel White Cougars in the mid 2000s. Martin became a inspiration to all after being one of the 1st people to compete on a varsity high school team with no legs.

Martin went to Colonel White HS during 2003-2006 and played for Coach Earl White at Colonel White and then Thurgood Marshall. Martin was born with Caudal regression syndrome, which is a condition that hinders capabilities with different limbs.

That never stopped Martin on and off the field however. That mentality is what got Martin to win the ESPY in 2006 for Best Male Athlete with a Disability.

Martin would be honored with the greats that year in Los Angeles, and the sky was the limit for him. He then would attend Central State University. Martin’s mentality was simple, but extremely effective, as you could see him wheeling around on his signature skateboard.

When asked about how it affected him and how he coped with Caudal syndrome as a young kid, he spoke. “My brothers taught me to be a man about it. You’re going to get people that laugh about you and don’t know you. Just explain yourself and go about your business.” Martin stated in an interview.

Martin collided with a van last week, and despite numerous efforts to resuscitate him, he passed away. Martin never made excuses; he just made a way. He lived fearlessly, and his energy and passion for football was evident. A guy who would make you understand what it really meant to be going through life without it being perfect.

You’d see him everywhere, and he was a real cool guy. Not to mention how you’d feel once you left his presence. He’d make you stop complaining about all the little stuff that was petty and had no real affect on your life. He would make you focus on being more positive, more dedicated to your craft, to enjoying your life. That’s how Bobby Martin lived, and we will salute one of the greatest athletes Dayton has ever seen.
