Dayton HS Sports, the 2 -Time Award Winning TV Show, has partnered up with NM Sports to launch
Its 1st ever Senior High School Showcase.
The games, which will feature a girls game followed by the boys game, will be played at the Ervin J. Nutter Center, home of the Wright State Raiders.
This event is part of a "Basketball Fiesta" on May 5th, or Cinco De Mayo, the famous day for the Mexican, Latin, Cuban, and Dominican communities.
NM Sports, the successful sports business who has a Pro-Am League going on at Wright State, had indicated in recent months that they would be launching a event with High School kids in the near future.
But when the word got to NM Sports that Dayton HS Sports was pushing the idea to the masses this season, Alexander Patten (CEO of NM Sports) decided to partner up.
The idea had been discussed in 2018 in Dayton HS Sports circles but due to the instability within DPS, the event was stalled.
Fast forward to this year.
After a couple of positive meetings, after looking at the numbers, and with the ability to get into one of the premiere basketball Arenas in Southwest Ohio?
With committments from 15 of the top Seniors in Southwest Ohio?
And the clearance from OHSAA?
Was a No-Brainer.
The game is in full effect.
Look for a early update of rosters and a tenative schedule early next week.
The list is fast growing of committments, the best players in Ohio.
Will
OHSAA State Champ Amari Davis (Trotwood),
Texas A&M committ Andre Gordon (Sidney),
Mr. Basketball -Samari Curtis (Xenia),
or Even LaMelo Ball (Spire Academy) be in the boys game?
Hmmmm.....
LaMelo Ball back in Dayton? |
(Granted they play basketball next season in college)
Tickets will go on Sale this weekend (online).
A portion of proceeds will go directly to Dayton HS Sports Scholarship Foundation.
Next week you will be able to go to a few different locations to buy them in case you dont want to buy them online.
We are still in need of sponsors, donors, and volunteers.
